For a period of time circa 2017, I did a month in review over on my website’s blog. It was inspired by the ever so lovely
. Posting a review at the end of each month helped me stay on course, helped me face the blank page (who doesn’t love a good list) and it also acted as a resource to readers. Today feels like the perfect day for a reboot!March 2025
- I’ve spent the last few months Making Space and this post is a direct result of the space created. I can’t wait to see what blooms from here.
- I just finished reading The Book of Delights by Ross Gay. I found it entertaining, deeply inspiring and easy to digest.
- I gave 5 haircuts, got one haircut and colored my hair dark. Back to brunette!
- I celebrated the sale of Sunrise on Saturday Morning. There are only two more pieces left in the Letters Home Collection!
- Really dove into the foto.app and I’m loving it. An app just for sharing photography. No algorithms, no like/follower count. Just photographs from around the world.
- Started the book Dorothea Lange A Life Beyond Limits.
- Made a big pot of soup and had my parents and grandparents over to watch Your Friend Nate Bargatze on Netflix. We just so happened to be in the audience in Phoenix last year when they were filming it!
- Learned abstract collage techniques from artist Sarah Z. Short in the final member call at Wilder. It really left me feeling inspired to create.
Although spring is right around the corner, it still feels quite wintery here in northern Minnesota. Since we’re expecting 10+ inches of snow tonight it felt appropriate to share an image I took last week of a frozen, foggy lake.
I’m looking forward to April and now that I have you as accountability, seeing what I can drum up in my art + life.
Do you love lists? If you have accountability, I’d love to hear more about it. In person, over an app, online?
Keep creating! Elyse’
I'm so happy that this Month in Review tradition resonates, Elysé. Cheers to sharing, dreaming, and reflecting! xx
What I really want to see is a photo of you in your new hair color! I really admire your spirit of adventure that permeates all areas of your life.
